Research at the AFMB lab addresses various themes in glycobiology, glycogenomics, microbiology, virology including emergent viruses, and neurobiology with, as a common goal, the detailed knowledge of the structure-function relationships of proteins or macromolecular assemblies relevant to human health. Modern multidisciplinary approaches in bioinformatics, genetic engineering, biochemistry, biophysics, medicinal chemistry and structural biology allow us to tackle challenges to discover new molecular architectures, partnerships and effectors associated with physiological functions or pathological conditions or opening new avenues to biotechnological applications beneficial to mankind. These activities are buttressed by state-of-the-art technological facilities available to internal and external users and offering insightful support to teaching and training activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
