Résumé

Systemic amyloidoses are a group of life-threatening diseases whereby large deposits of amyloid fibrils are accumulated in one or several internal organs causing tissue alterations and organ failure. Using single particle Cryo-electron microscopy (Cryo-EM) we characterize amyloid deposits directly extracted from the tissue of affected individuals, allowing the direct analysis of the pathologic misfolded assemblies. Cryo-EM structure of amyloids extracted from cardiac and renal tissues of patients affected by Light Chain amyloidosis, from kidneys of patients from AA amyloidosis will be presented and discussed.
