Sonia LONGHI est Directeur de Recherche au Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). Depuis 2005 elle dirige le groupe « Désordre Structural et Reconnaissance Moléculaire » au sein du laboratoire AFMB. Elle a obtenu un Doctorat de l’Universitá degli Studi de Milan en Biologie Moléculaire en 1993. Elle est titulaire d’un HDR de l’Université d’Aix-Marseille I en virologie structurale depuis 2003. Son activité de recherche est axée sur les protéines intrinsèquement désordonnées (PIDs) avec une pertinence en termes de santé, et sur les aspects fonctionnels et mécanistiques des interactions qu’elles établissent avec de partenaires. A ce jour, elle a publié 145 articles et a édité un livre sur la nucléoprotéine du virus de la rougeole. Elle a également co-édité (avec Vladimir Uversky) un livre sur les méthodes expérimentales pour l’étude des PIDs, ainsi qu’un livre sur le désordre structural au sein des protéines virales (Wiley).
